How do you install
1. place zip on root directory of sd card
2. turn off phone and boot to CWM (power+volume up+home key)
3. wipe data and cache
4. choose update from sd card
5. select downloaded zip
6. reboot (will take about 5 min)

Additional tweaks
Use root explorer and place it to replace original and do back up first.

Hello, I tried to install this ROM but I didn't do it right... I followed the steps but I forgot to wipe data and cache BEFORE installing it, so when the installing was succesfull and before rebooting the phone, I wiped the data and cache and installed it again... but when I rebooted the phone, couldn't pass the "Samsung Galaxy Y Young" screen...
ReplyDeleteSo what I did was to reboot in recovery mode again, wiped the data and cache, and tried to restore the system with a backup I had previously done, according to the process, the phone was succesfully restored, however when I rebooted it again the same thing happened: I can only see the "Samsung Galaxy Y Young" screen... what can I do to restore my phone? Please help!!!
alright.. looks like you got softbrick on your phone, what you need to do is download (stock) recovery kernel and flash through odin, it will remove the stuck on galaxy logo, see video page on how.
ReplyDeleteThis is caused since the rom needs to be flashed from stock rom.. so once phone is up, flash stock rom then using cwm, follow the steps above to flash this custom rom

ReplyDelete- download chosen firmware bundle - install Kies, or Samsung driver pack
- unzip the package, You'll get 3 *.tar (or tar.md5) files
- download Odin3 1.84 or 1.85 (click here)
- stop Kies
- stop all active ADB sessions
- start odin
- do backup of your data and apps
- charge your SGY at least 75%
- remove SGY from USB or charger
- start the device in Download mode
(volume down+power+home key)
- Browse the 3 tar files to odin PDA=PDA_xxxx.tar, PHONE=MODEM_ or PHONE_xxxxx.tar, CSC=CSC_xxxxx.tar
- no PIT and/or BOOT files required - leave it empty!
- leave all other fields and checkboxes default!
- connect your phone, You must see yellow 0:[COMxx] in the first ID:COM and "Added" in the message box
- Start flashing by the START button.
- flashing will start immediately, see the progress in the message box, and progress bar on the phone
- Wait 1-3 minutes, until green PASS! in the upper left
- SGY will reboot, leave it as is for 2-5 minutes until startup finishes
- if it stuck (eg boot anim loop) then:
boot to recovery and wipe data and cache
When Android boots up, it's highly recommended to set your CSC via the dialer *#272*_your_imei_# (to see IMEI type *#06# in dialer) -> (it will erase all your data on the phone, but not the SD card)

ReplyDeleteNow I want to flash my phone but I'm using ROM Manager to do so.. it says that GT-S5360L does not have an officially supported CWM, and asks me that if I have installed CWM manually... Obviously my answer is 'no' but how can I install the CWM then??
rom manager is not the way to use cwm, see tweaks tab and browse how to use cwm

the reason why you need to be on stock rom is because of the repencis kernel on ussr. if your on stock kernel, then thats okay. just flash. always make backup

ReplyDeleteno, you will need to follow the instructions above for a successful boot. although you can always create a nanandroid backup using custom cwm if you want to flash back
